Consumers in the market for Shigeru pianos should also consider the concert series of pianos by Yamaha. As such, the Shigeru Kawai sells for a much higher price point than the standard Kawai pianos. The Kawai Shigeru piano, named after Shigeru Kawai (the son of Koichi Kawai) was designed by Kawai to attempt to compete with the concert series piano lines made by other manufacturers. It should be pointed out that Kawai makes its standard piano line, but also produces a higher-end piano called the Shigeru Kawai piano. For pre-owned grand or upright pianos Kawai is usually a moderately priced choice. If you are in the market for a used piano Kawai is one choice to consider.
